Let's Dish: Fitness Trackers
Open discussion on current health trends.
Do you think fitness trackers on your phone, worn, or installed on exercise equipment are mostly accurate or inaccurate?
Do you use a fitness tracker, or perhaps, multiple trackers?
Let's Dish!
I use a Vibe 3 Plus fitness watch and find it mostly accurate. It is definitely more accurate than the fitness tracker I used to have on my phone that would count answering the phone, or swiveling directions in a chair as steps.
ReplyDeleteMy main focus is on number of steps, duration, and distance. I do also use the heart monitor and oxygen meter features on my fitness watch.
I don't "eat back" calories burned or really pay much attention to that info. I am not vigorously active, so "burned" calories simply help me work towards losing weight.
Maybe when I reach "maintenance", I will need to consider eating back some of the calories I burn via exercise. That might be a good topic to "dish" on at a later date.
I never eat back calories burned! I use a samsung watch (5 pro its the best for fitness features) now. Its probably the most accurate ive used so far. It misses some steps but thats okay! Not many and id rather underestimate than way over.
ReplyDeleteAlso work outs it bases off my weight and heart rate during the work outs i punch into the watch and duration.
I agree that "underestimating" is preferable to "overestimating."
